We welcome all farm & garden related donations: time, tools, manure/compost, seeds, advice. Plant starts are especially needed, since we do not have greenhouse space to start our own.

THE GARDEN

Our garden on Sunrise Ridge is now in its second season. Last year the garden produced well over 1000 lbs. of fresh organic fruit & vegetables and was 100% volunteer run. The garden is also a place for folks to get their hands in the soil, whether to learn about growing food or as a way to give back to the community. We meet at the garden every Wednesday, 9 am to noon. Please join us!

THE FARM

Last autumn, our pilot farm project on Maury Island produced 1700 lbs of beets, cabbage & spinach, some of which was received by the White Center food bank. This year, Chris Robison and Amy Greenberg welcomed us on to their land where we have begun planting half an acre. It is a beautiful site and we are delighted to be there! One of our goals for the farm is to grow enough to share the harvest with other food banks in the South King County Food Coalition.

Interested in getting involved?

Both the farm & garden thrive thanks to volunteer support. We welcome groups, students, families, everyone. Please contact our volunteer coordinator Mary Fitch at 463-6332 or mary@vashonfoodbank.org.

Other ways to help:

We welcome all farm & garden related donations: tools, manure/compost, seeds, advice. Plant starts are especially needed, since we do not have greenhouse space to start our own.

A HUGE thank you goes to all who have already shared your time, tools, seeds, plants and manure—THANK YOU!
